Two of Canada’s homegrown real estate organizations are joining forces in a move that signals a broader shift in the country’s real estate landscape.
Toronto-based myAbode Inc. has announced a strategic investment in Sutton Group, bringing together a combined network of more than 12,000 agents on a single platform. Together, the companies handle more than 60,000 transactions annually.
“In an era of real estate consolidation, this partnership introduces a distinctly Canadian solution,” the company said in a statement.
As part of the deal, Sutton CEO Ross McCredie will join the myAbode board of directors. Sutton president and COO James Innis will take on the additional role of chief investment officer at myAbode, leading brokerage operations nationally. MyAbode CEO Bronwyn Smith will join the Sutton board.
“This partnership gives our partners, agents and the myAbode agent network the operational strength and cutting-edge technology they need to lead our industry,” McCredie said.
For myAbode, which runs deal processing and compliance infrastructure for brokerages, and operates Right at Home Realty and Property.ca, the investment continues a pattern of backing brokerages it sees as positioned for long-term growth.
Smith framed the partnership as an opportunity to shift the industry’s centre of gravity. “By growing our network, we will provide agents with more referrals, expanded connections, and technology innovation,” she said.
The news comes just months after McCredie outlined an ambitious growth strategy for Sutton, including planned technology acquisitions, major brokerage conversions in Ontario and Eastern Canada, and the 2026 launch of Sutton Wealth — a data platform designed to give homeowners access to institutional-grade property information.
