Mave raises $5M for AI platform for real estate agents
A fast-growing tech company that’s aiming to streamline the way real estate agents and brokerages do business with AI has raised $5 million to expand into new markets and further develop the platform.
Toronto-based Mave announced Tuesday a seed round that will accelerate engineering and product expansion, building toward a goal of enabling brokerage owners to “run their entire business and brand” through the AI-backed platform, according to a company statement.
The round includes investment from Staircase Ventures, along with returning investors Relay Ventures, N49P and Alate Partners.
Mave closed a $2-million pre-seed round in October 2024.
What Mave does
The Mave team, which plans to scale up to 25 people this year (contributed).
Mave’s AI assistant streamlines marketing, market data and content creation.
The platform collects agents’ MLS data to build a personalized workflow customized to their brand that is brokerage and board-compliant. It proactively detects when a listing goes live and generates a full brand-aligned campaign, saving significant time every week on creating things like social media strategies, filming scripts and promotional campaigns.
“The early traction has been incredible. Mave’s platform has been developed by working hand in hand with the industry, and we’re building towards a future where every Realtor has an AI partner to amplify their expertise, not replace it,” said founder and CEO Raz Zohar.
Zohar said in a 2024 REM interview that streamlining tedious workflows empowers agents to focus on what they do best, which is serving clients and closing deals.
Scaling up in Ontario and beyond
Mave says it is actively onboarding 8,500 agents and dozens of Ontario’s major brokerages, including Forest Hill Real Estate, PSR, Right at Home Realty, and many of Remax’s major franchise groups, with another 10,000 agents and 100 brokerages on the waitlist.
This year, the company also plans to expand into the United States and expand more broadly in Canada.
“In today’s world, real estate agents are facing more content and competition for consumers’ attention, making it harder than ever to build a brand that resonates. That’s what excites us about Mave,” said Stephanie Wood, VP at venture capital firm Alate Partners.
“Raz and his team combine AI with human personalization to help agents deliver consistent, meaningful marketing, connect with clients, and make smarter, more strategic decisions in running their business.”
The company plans to grow its staff accordingly, aiming for a headcount of 25 by the end of the year.
Board moves
Staircase Venture managing partner Janet Bannister will join the Mave board.
Mave is also adding the following industry advisors:
- Natalka Falcolmer, chief real estate officer at Houseful
- Rhoda Rahaii, former VP of strategy and operations at Compass
- Karen Yolevski, CEO of Carson Dunlop
- Richard Silver, senior VP at Sotheby’s International Realty Canada and former President of Toronto Regional Real Estate Board
