‘Wolf Warrior’ Hu Yong isn’t just planning to win when he returns to the ONE Championship fold. He’s targeting something no fighter has accomplished against Danny Kingad.
The Chinese standout faces the Filipino veteran in a flyweight MMA clash at ONE Fight Night 40: Buntan vs. Hemetsberger II on Prime Video. The card takes place inside Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium this Friday, Feb. 13.
Kingad has never been knocked out throughout his professional career, a testament to his durability and grit across 17 appearances in ONE.
But ‘Wolf Warrior’ enters desperate to put an end to his two-match skid. During his pre-fight interview with the promotion, the Fighting Bros Club martial artist revealed his ambitious game plan for breaking Kingad’s knockout-proof record.

“My prediction is that the fight will go the full three rounds, with me emerging victorious,” Hu Yong confidently declared, before breaking down his path to victory.
“Since my opponent will likely engage in grappling exchanges, my opportunity will be to look for a KO in stand-up exchanges. He has never been knocked out before, and I want to accomplish that challenge,” he continued.
As bold as it may sound, Hu isn’t biting more than he can chew. The Chinese star has registered seven knockout wins in his 18-fight resume.
If he’s able to find a crack in Kingad’s typically tough defensive structure, he could wrap things up early inside the Mecca of Muay Thai this Friday.
Hu Yong thrilled to share the ring alongside Danny Kingad
Like Hu Yong, Kingad hops back into action in search of a much-needed win. The Filipino slugger succumbed to two back-to-back losses to Sanzhar Zakirov and Reece McLaren.
Because of that, ‘Wolf Warrior’ expects Kingad to be at his ferocious best when they trade leather in this hotly anticipated clash.
“For [this] comeback fight, I am very excited. I need to secure this win to prove that I still have what it takes to compete for the championship. My opponent will definitely give it his all, and it will be an exciting showdown. I am ready for it,” Hu Yong added.
ONE Fight Night 40 will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada, live in U.S. primetime for free on Feb. 13.
