Carson Dunlop has partnered with Humber Polytechnic to launch a new real estate home inspection program.
Humber isn’t new to real estate. It has been deeply involved in the ecosystem for years — from delivering the foundational real estate salesperson program approved by the Real Estate Council of Ontario, to more recently partnering with the Ontario Real Estate Association (OREA) on courses designed to bolster the skills and leadership of practising real estate salespersons.
Through this new collaboration, Humber continues its significant investment in professional education across the industry.
An inspection report can influence price negotiations, condition waivers, buyer confidence and, ultimately, whether a family proceeds with a purchase. Because of the important role inspectors play in real estate transactions, the quality and consistency of training matter.
Across Canada, regulatory approaches to home inspection vary by province. While the broader regulatory landscape continues to evolve, education remains one of the most immediate ways to strengthen professional practice and support confidence in the field.
That’s what drove the partnership with Humber Polytechnic.
The real estate home inspection program, developed jointly, is practical, structured and grounded in real-world application. It brings together building systems, defect recognition, reporting practices and professional conduct into a cohesive foundation. This isn’t academic theory; it prepares people for the realities of inspection work.
The program sits alongside Humber’s other real estate education programming, including courses built with OREA to strengthen transactional and leadership skills for real estate salespersons, as part of a larger trend: treating real estate professionals with the seriousness they deserve.
Carson Dunlop has been involved in inspector education for decades and continues to focus on what it can influence most directly: advancing education, supporting consistency and helping professionals deliver greater confidence to buyers, sellers and agents.
Looking ahead, Carson Dunlop intends to continue partnering with polytechnics and programs across Canada to build structured, accessible training pathways that help elevate the profession.
