College Hoops fans outraged over latest AP Poll Top 25 after Week 18

The AP Poll Top 25 for Week 18 of the regular season is out, featuring significant shakeups in the top 10. UConn and Florida finished the regular season strong with important wins, as Iowa State and Houston each suffered losses.

The shifts in the rankings didn’t occur only at the top, as multiple newcomers entered the bottom of the AP Poll Top 25. However, the rankings have ignited fiery reactions from fans across social media, including X.

How teams fared on the latest AP Poll Top 25 rankings

St. John’s was the biggest gainer on the standings, moving five places to rank No. 13. Virginia and Arkansas also gained three spots each to rank at No. 10 and No. 17, respectively.

Meanwhile, Saint Louis and Miami dropped out of the rankings, as Wisconsin and Louisville climbed up. Texas Tech had the steepest fall, dropping six spots to No. 16, followed by Purdue falling three places to rank No. 18.

On the other end, Duke (29-2) remained atop the AP Poll Top 25 rankings after beating rival North Carolina 76-61 to end the regular season. Outstanding freshman Cameron Boozer scored 26 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, as he led the Blue Devils to the win, giving out five assists.

Senior forward Maliq Brown also contributed 15 points, nine rebounds, and two assists to secure the important win.

Meanwhile, a road win for Arizona at Colorado over the weekend ensured the Wildcats ended the regular season on a winning note. Brayden Burries led the Wildcats in scoring as they beat the Buffaloes 89-79, remaining at No. 2 in the rankings.

Burries had 31 points, seven rebounds, and one assist, as Koa Peat followed with 25 points, three rebounds, and four assists.
