Canada improves to 3-0 at the Women’s Curling Worlds
Team Canada remains undefeated at the 2026 Women’s World Curling Championships in Calgary, Alberta. On Sunday, Canada defeated China 9-3 in a dominant performance from skip Kerri Einarson of Gimli, Manitoba.
Once again, it was Team Canada having an exceptional second half to the game. After leading China 3-2 after the first four ends, the second four ends was all Team Canada. Einarson outscored China 6-1 in the fifth to eighth ends. After the eighth end, Chinese skip Rui Wang decided to shake hands.
In the sixth to 10th ends so far at the 2026 Women’s World Curling Championships at Calgary’s Markin MacPhail Centre, it has been a terrific tournament to date for Team Canada. They have outscored their opposition by a score of 14-3.
Canada is tied for first place with two other countries. While one country should not be a surprise whatsoever, the other country should be a huge surprise. It should be no surprise that Japan is 3-0. Japan’s Satsuki Fujisawa is currently ranked ninth in the world and have beaten Switzerland 6-3, South Korea 9-5 and Norway 10-9. What may be a surprise is that Turkey’s Dilsat Yildiz, currently ranked 37th in the world, is also at 3-0. She has defeated Norway 8-7, Scotland 5-3, and the United States 9-5 so far.
