Canada. Clearly.
Good context should bring you closer to the evidence. Here is how we approach the stories, sources and visuals you find on CDN News.

Make the uncertainty visible.
These standards guide publication. They also make our limitations easier to understand.
We build explanations from supported facts. We do not reproduce complete articles or disguise another publisher’s writing with synonyms. Attribution does not replace permission.
Coverage links to its sources. Official releases, public records and datasets are starting points, not proof of every interpretation. We distinguish a source’s statements from our explanation.
Outside images need appropriate usage rights and credits. Illustrative photographs, original graphics and generated illustrations are identified. A conceptual image is not evidence of a real event.
Article dates describe publication. Source dates describe the underlying material. A routine source check does not make an old story new. Data needs a period, geography, unit and identifiable source.
Find relevant source material and check for duplicates.
Check claims against the full source and identify missing context.
Write an original briefing with attribution and clear limitations.
Withhold unsuitable drafts. Correct material errors visibly.
Source checks do not guarantee a new article. Unsupported claims, duplicate material and unresolved conflicts should not be published to meet a target.
AI can assist drafting and checking. Automated checks can miss errors. We do not claim a journalist attended an event, interviewed a source or reviewed a story unless that work occurred. Rule-based release guides are labelled.
We avoid invented quotations, unsupported predictions and promises of investment returns. Health, legal and financial explanations offer general background, not individual professional advice. Serious allegations and unresolved conflicts require additional review.
Material errors should be corrected visibly, with an explanation of what changed. Submit an article-specific request to the owner’s review queue. No email address is required; no response time is promised.
Standards updated October 28, 2026. Automatic article publishing is disabled. New articles are published only on an explicit owner request, after source checks.
