Luxury Beverly Hills residence just saw its first penthouse sale
The Mandarin Oriental Residences in Beverly Hills — where Academy Award-winning actress Michelle Yeoh stayed during the 2024 Oscars — has found the first buyer for one of its penthouses, Gimme Shelter can reveal.
The news comes a year after Centurion Real Estate Partners bought the luxury residence from the struggling developer Michael Shvo, who had defaulted on around $200 million in debt.
The splashy duplex is in contract for around $13.25 million, a spokesperson said, adding that it’s the first $10 million-plus condo contract of the year in LA.
This is one of six penthouses in the building. It was originally asking $13.95 million.
It comes with the three bedrooms and 3.5 baths over 3,440 square feet — with an additional 1,129 square feet of outdoor space with views of the Hollywood Hills, Beverly Hills and Century City.
Design details include 7-inch white wide-plank floors. The home opens to an entry foyer with an interior jade garden designed by Enzo Enea, and leads to a large great room and a chef’s kitchen.
The main corner bedroom suite features a dressing room and a windowed, spa-like bath with radiant-heated marble floors and a large walk-in closet.
The 54 units all come with hotel-style amenities and luxury service — staff can unpack your bags, walk your dog and book your spa treatments, according to reports.
The seven-story building, which is residential-only — there are no hotel units — was designed by MVE & Partners with interiors by 1508 London.
The penthouse includes a wraparound terrace on the main level and a partial-floor private roof deck.
It’s an indoor/outdoor light-filled living style, with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and rooms opening to terraces. The design is all warm neutrals.
The building, at 9200 Wilshire Blvd., is minutes from Rodeo Drive. Amenities include a common rooftop pool with daybeds and cabanas. There’s also a rooftop gym, a sauna, a steam room, a yoga terrace and a private training room.
