October 29 status check: no certified seat totals yet for B.C.'s October 24 provincial vote.
What the preliminary count shows
Elections BC's published initial count, completed October 25 and updated October 26, shows the Conservative Party leading in 63 of 93 electoral districts, the BC NDP in 28, and the BC Green Party in two. Elections BC calls these results preliminary, even though all election-night ballot boxes have reported. The district-leading figures must not be described as certified final seats.
What still has to be counted
Mail-in and other absentee ballots excluded from initial count will be processed at final count, scheduled for November 6 to November 10, 2026. Elections BC says it performs eligibility and duplicate-vote checks on outstanding ballots. Close individual races may change as those ballots are included.
Votes and preliminary participation
The official result portal reports 1,799,550 total votes considered in the preliminary tabulation and 48.14% preliminary voter turnout. The listed share of party votes includes about 48.06% Conservative, 37.37% BC NDP and 10.97% BC Green. Provincewide vote share is not the same thing as the number of districts won under the electoral system.
When to expect confirmation
After final count, result certifications and any legally required recount processes must be distinguished from election-night projections. Elections BC identifies November 18 as Return Day. CDN News will preserve the historical initial-count figures and use Elections BC's subsequent updates for any confirmed adjustments.
